Here are the deets on the Marketing and Community Engagement Lead position:
Organization Background
Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF), a well-funded, non-profit start-up based in Palo Alto, California, has a mission to improve personal finance education for high school and college students through engaging blended curriculum and effective teacher professional development. Founded in June 2014, NGPF’s work has been featured in the NY Times and Wall Street Journal, and personal finance teachers love our innovative approach to personal finance education (See Testimonials). We are looking for a passionate and energetic professional to join our small team.
Job Description
To be successful, NGPF needs a versatile team member to develop and execute a marketing plan to move us beyond the early adopters to reach the broader personal finance educator community. Our curriculum and professional development offerings have been extremely well received by the educator community, as demonstrated by the tremendous growth in our web traffic. We know that we can grow even faster, though, and need your help to identify strategies to get us to our goal of reaching one million students. You should also expect to play a leading role in meeting the needs of our current educator customers. Oh…and we are a start-up, so expect that you will get an opportunity to pick-up new skills along the way too.
Responsibilities
Send along your resume with cover letter to Tim Ranzetta at tim@nextgenpersonalfinance.org. In the cover letter, please provide ONE idea of how NGPF could increase the number of teachers using our curriculum.
Next Gen Personal Finance provides a competitive salary and benefits package (including performance bonus) and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
