Paying for College Unit Fully Updated with FAFSA Changes

Following the launch of the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, we've completed the final round of updates to the Paying for College unit.

Semester Course Updates

Semester Course is Now on Canvas

The Student Activity Packets for the Semester Course are now available on Canvas! 

Semester Course Now Available on Pear Deck

The ready-made decks mean you can spend more time thinking about your lesson and implementation instead of working on slides for your class.

Full-Year Course Updates

Major Update to the Full-Year Course

The Full-Year Course got a major update in the spring.

More Spanish Resources for Your Classroom

The release of the new Full-Year Course means all Unit Tests, Diagnostic and Final Exams for the Full-Year Course are available in Spanish. Many of the activities found in the DO IT portion of the Full-Year Course lessons have been translated into Spanish. 

Mini-Units 

NEW Gambling & Sports Betting Mini-Unit

The mini-unit includes four engaging lessons and three brand new activities designed to help your students make informed decisions when faced with gambling opportunities.

Alternatives to 4-Year Colleges Revamp

With new activities, a fresh lesson, and updated content, this mini-unit has the latest on career pathways that don’t require a 4-year degree.

Financial Algebra Course Updates

NEW Parent Newsletters for Financial Algebra

Each unit has a customizable newsletter to send home to families. The newsletter includes space for important announcements, personal finance conversation starters, and resources for additional math practice.

Middle School Course Updates

NGPF’s Middle School Course now includes parent newsletters you can use to keep families informed.

Middle School Quizlets are Retired

Because Quizlet now requires students to create an account in order to view all of the terms and use their features, we are no longer maintaining them.

The NGPF Curriculum Team has added 4 new MOVE activities, including 3 scavenger hunts and one musical chairs activity.

Third Course Added to the NGPF/ASU Graduate Credit Program

This fall, Arizona State University (ASU) is offering a new graduate course, Psychology and Technology in Personal Finance for Educators, as part of the personal finance graduate credit program for K-12 teachers.

Momentum is growing each year as more states guarantee a standalone Personal Finance course for all high schoolers.
