Students love to engage with current events that feel relevant and applicable to their lives. FinCap Friday offers a fantastic opportunity to integrate current events that are geared towards a high school audience. Let’s explore how you can make the most out of FinCap Friday in your classroom!
What is FinCap Friday?
FinCap Friday is a weekly video series that combines five questions with a short video to energize classrooms and engage students through current events. Additionally, you can follow up the video with a discussion prompt to extend the topic and encourage further critical thinking.
How do I implement FinCap Friday in my class?
Make FinCap Friday a part of your weekly routine! Every Friday morning during the school year, FinCap Friday is released with a ready-made Google Slide presentation that includes:
You can choose your preferred platform (Kahoot/Youtube or EdPuzzle) and use it as a bell ringer or closing activity each Friday! If you prefer not to use Kahoot or EdPuzzle, a link to a No Tech version is also available, and the questions are included right in the slide presentation.
Where can I find FinCap Friday activities on the website?
You can find FinCap Friday under the Resources section of NGPF.org's top navigation menu.
You can also subscribe to the blog to receive email reminders with a link every Friday morning!
