We are thrilled to share some exciting news for all you educators, your students, and all financial literacy enthusiasts! Financially Inclined from Marketplace, the money podcast designed specifically for teens, is back with a brand-new season of episodes! Hosted by NGPF's own Yanely Espinal (Director of Educational Outreach), this series continues to be a go-to resource for bringing relevant, engaging, and impactful financial education into your classroom.
Building on the success of the first two seasons, the upcoming episodes promise some cool and inspiring new guests, plus actionable tips for teens. Whether your students are new to managing money or looking to deepen their existing financial knowledge, these episodes are designed to meet them where they are.
Topics will include:
1) Bank accounts and why we need them
2) How your brain can play tricks on you when it comes to money
3) Dark or deceptive patterns used against us online
4) Planning for big purchases
5) Ins and outs of a credit score
6) The trouble with online gambling and sports betting
7) Scams and fraud online
8) Who can you trust with your money?
With its conversational tone and diverse range of guests—from TikTok influencers to seasoned journalists—Financially Inclined keeps students hooked while delivering crucial financial insights. To make integrating this podcast into your classroom even easier, every episode comes with free, pre-created NGPF listening guide for students included in a teacher slide deck!
You can use the podcast in class as a group activity or as independent work (as long as you have 1:1 devices and each student has headphones). You might also assign a specific podcast episode for homework. You can offer your students the choice of either listening to the audio podcast or tuning into the video version on YouTube.
All episodes of the first two seasons are linked here, with the listening guides linked in the description box under the videos. You can also access the latest episodes and listening guides in NGPF's Video Library.
As we gear up for the launch of the new season on August 16th, we invite you to join us in spreading the word about Financially Inclined from Marketplace. Whether you're sharing episodes with your students, discussing them with colleagues, or posting on social media, your support helps us reach more young people with the financial knowledge they need to succeed.
