Welcome to the third series of My Classroom, a 15-minute weekly NGPF podcast series that will highlight four rock star teachers who took unique paths to the classroom and collectively attended more than 600 hours of virtual professional development with NGPF in 2020. In this series, we will learn what remote teaching strategies they enjoy the most and how they use these strategies and the information they have learned in their own instruction.
Each week a new podcast will be posted for you to listen to on your drive to or from work, on a quick walk, or just when you need a little inspiration and encouragement.
In Episode #3, we hear from Molly Tyson who shares how her previous experience working in higher education, business, crisis management, and entrepreneurship has helped her in the classroom. Molly also shares what strategies she has learned and used from attending over 190 hours of NGPF Virtual PDs and Certification Courses.

Did you miss Episode 1 or 2?
In Episode #1, Amanda Lucero shares her experience filming the documentary "The Most Important Class You Never Had" and why the culture of the teacher community in NGPF professional development is just as important as the content itself.
In Episode #2, Rose Villery shares her experience as a teacher during this difficult year, including being displaced by a hurricane while she continued to teach and attend NGPF Certification Courses.
Podcast Correction: Molly Tyson was the Program Manager for the 10,000 Small Businesses Program sponsored by the Goldman Sachs Foundation that was at Cuyahoga Community College, not a direct employee of Goldman Sachs.
Amanda joins the NGPF Team with over 20 years of experience teaching personal finance. During that time, she led her students to hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships, won multiple awards, and most importantly, impacted the financial lives of thousands of high school students. Amanda prides herself on being an educational leader and is constantly looking for innovative ways to make the classroom relevant, rigorous, and fun. She is a passionate advocate for financial education and has been a long-time member of the NGPF community. Fun fact - Amanda was NGPF’s first teacher account! When Amanda isn’t working, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and traveling with her husband and two children.
Making a difference in the lives of students through financial capability is Brian’s greatest passion. He comes to NGPF after fifteen years of public school teaching where he was the ‘11 Ohio Department of Education recipient of a Milken National Educator Award, the CEE Forbes Award winner, and a Money Magazine/CNN "Money Hero". He served on the working group for President Obama's Advisory Council on Financial Capability. He has private school experience as a Trustee for the Cincinnati Country Day School and was a past Ohio Jump$tart President. Brian holds a BBA and M.Ed. When Brian isn’t working alongside his NGPF teammates he is likely spending time with his wife, three children, and dog; hiking, or watching Ohio State football.
