One of the most common questions we get from teachers when it comes to PD is some version of "Where do I even begin?" It depends on how much time you have, what you want to walk away with, and whether you learn best on your own or alongside other educators. To help, we have launched a new PD home page that shows every offering, side by side, so you can pick the one that fits your needs.
Here's a quick tour:
If you would rather work at your own pace, we got you! Our On-Demand modules run about an hour each and cover a wide range of personal finance topics, so you can build content knowledge from wherever you are, whenever you have the time. New to NGPF? Start with the Beginner Series or the Starter Pack.
Virtual PD sessions are live, one hour, and offered multiple times a week. It’s a great place to build community and share best practices with other educators as we dig into a personal finance topic or a specific part of the curriculum. The weekly Speaker Series brings in experts from outside the classroom every Thursday.
Certification Courses are the best way to go deep on a single content area. You'll spend 10 hours over three to six weeks working with a facilitator, and you can choose a live or self-paced cohort depending on your schedule. Complete six courses and you too, could be recognized as a Distinguished Educator.
Twice a year, in the spring (April) and the fall (August), our Virtual Conferences pack seven hours of programming into one Saturday. Sessions run about an hour each, and they're open to everyone. We bring in keynote speakers and great sessions to build your knowledge and support you as an educator. Read about our BTS Conference here.
Want to be in the room with other personal finance teachers? FinCamps are a full day of in-person PD in more than 25 cities a year; it’s a day of curriculum, collaboration, and a reset before you head back to your classroom. Read about FinCamps here.
Take the PD Pathway Quiz and we'll point you toward the format that matches your goals. Or head straight to the PD home page and see everything at once.
Hope to see you at a PD soon!
