As the NGPF Curriculum Team refreshed the Taxes Unit this month, we surveyed 450 educators to learn how they approach teaching taxes. Check out their insights.
The NGPF curriculum team releases the Taxes Unit updates annually in February. Three-quarters of respondents indicated they teach Taxes around tax season.
68% of respondents indicated they spend a full week or more teaching taxes. For those who integrate it throughout the year or have one class period, using a Taxes Unit activity may be a good choice.
For teachers looking to improve their confidence in teaching Taxes, NGPF offers On-Demand PD modules on the topic. For a more in-depth understanding, our next Taxes Certification Course is being offered in Cohort 53, starting May 1. Register for the course here.
If you need to up the classroom energy, get your students out of their seats with MOVE: Your Tax Dollar in Action.
To wrap the survey up, we also asked one fun question asking respondents what movie genre they think taxes would be!
