It can take up to six weeks for the DoE to process your renewal credits.

Wisconsin

Not applicable.

There are no requirements for CEU hours in Wisconsin attached to maintaining a lifetime teaching license.

West Virginia

No.

West Virginia does not accept NGPF PD Certificates as official Continuing Education Units for semester hours.

Washington

Yes.

NGPF will send you a Washington-specific certificate of completion.

Virginia

Yes.

Virginia accepts NGPF PD Certificates for PD points.

Vermont

Vermont accepts NGPF PD Certificates for professional learning.

Utah

Yes.

NGPF is included as an option on Utah’s General Financial Literacy CTE application. Please refer there directly for specifics.

Texas

Yes.

NGPF will send you a Texas-specific certificate of completion.

Tennessee

Yes.

Tennessee accepts NGPF PD Certificates for Professional Development Points.

South Dakota

Yes.

South Dakota accepts NGPF PD Certificates for Continuing Education Credit.

South Carolina

Yes.

Educators holding a South Carolina Department of Education issued Professional certificate are only eligible to receive renewal credit for professional development activities at the approval of their employing South Carolina public school district or renewal entity.

Please submit materials to your specific district. Please bear in mind that educators not employed by a South Carolina public school district have restricted renewal options that do not extend to third-party provider offerings.

Rhode Island

Yes.

Your district accepts NGPF PD Certificates for Professional Learning Units.

Pennsylvania

Yes.

NGPF will submit your attendance for a Certification Course to the Pennsylvania Department of Education as long as you provide your PPID# on the exam.

It can take up to two weeks for the DoE to process your ACT48 Hours.

Oregon

Yes.

Oregon accepts NGPF PD Certificates for Professional Development Units (PDUs).

You can access your certificates at any time by going to your My NGPF Academy.

Oklahoma

Not applicable.

Oklahoma does not require or track Continuing Education Units for license renewal.

Ohio

Maybe.

NGPF Certification Courses could be included as part of the 18 continuing education units (180 contact hour) requirement if an educator includes and seeks approval as part of their Individual Professional Development Plan, subject to approval of the Local Professional Development Committee.  NGPF suggests referring to Ohio's Department of Education website directly.

North Dakota

Yes.

Valley City State University is able to verify and register NGPF professional development hours. VCSU requires the completion of 15 NGPF professional development hours first before completing the verification form. VCSU accepts NGPF PD dated within one year (Aug. 1-July 31) and offers the credit within the semester the form is completed.

North Carolina

Maybe.

Local education agencies (LEA) can approve classes and workshops for renewal credits. NGPF recommends speaking to your local district as well as referring directly to the NCDPI website for more information.

New York

Yes.

NGPF will send you a New York-specific CTLE form for your records.

New Mexico

Not applicable.

New Mexico does not record or track professional development.

New Jersey

Yes.

New Jersey accepts NGPF PD Certificates for PD Hours.

New Hampshire

Maybe.

For those following a local SAU Professional Development Master Plan, PD hours are approved at the local level. Other certificate holders renew directly with the NHDOE and can provide NGPF PD Certificates. The Bureau of Credentialing does not provide pre-approval of PD activities or providers.

Nevada

Yes.

Nevada accepts NGPF PD Certificates for Continuing Education Credit.
You can access your certificates at any time by going to your My NGPF Academy in your Teacher Account.

Note: As of 3/28/24, Clark County Education Association (CCEA) members can take NGPF Certification Courses for salary advancement credit. Questions can be directed to sheila@ngpf.org.

Nebraska

No.

Nebraska does not accept NGPF PD Certificates as official Continuing Education Units.

Montana

No.

Montana does not accept NGPF PD Certificates for renewal units.

Missouri

Maybe.

PD reporting forms are done at the district level for Missouri educators. NGPF Certification Courses could be included as part of the yearly PD hour requirement. Ask your district for more details.

Mississippi

Yes.

Each month, NGPF submits attendance on behalf of all certification course participants to the Mississippi Council on Economic Education. For CEU processing, please follow these additional instructions and application.

Note: Hours completed during through self-paced Certification Courses are ineligible to be counted as MS CEU credits.

Minnesota

Yes.

Minnesota accepts NGPF PD Certificates for PD Hours.

Michigan

Yes.

NGPF will submit your attendance for a Certification Course to the Michigan Department of Education.

It can take up to three weeks for the DoE to process your State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs)*.

*The NGPF Career Certification Course also qualifies counselors for Career SCECHs.

Massachusetts

Yes.

NGPF will send you a certificate of completion you can submit to the Massachusetts Department of Education for Professional Development Points. Please give our team one week after the exam window closes to send the certificate.

Maryland

Yes for the live instructor-led courses.

NGPF will send you a Maryland-specific Completion for Credit form for those Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours for your records.

Please give our team one week after the exam window closes to send your completion form.

Note: We are unable to provide CPD hours for self-paced Certification Courses.

Maine

Yes.

NGPF will submit your attendance for a Certification Course to the Maine Department of Education.

It can take up to six weeks for the DoE to process your Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Louisiana

Yes.

Louisiana accepts NGPF PD Certificates for Continuing Learning Units.

Kentucky

Not applicable.

License renewal isn't based on PD credits but rather is obtained by years of classroom experience or graduate courses only.

Kansas

Yes.

Kansas accepts NGPF PD Certificates for PD points.

Iowa

Yes.

Starting with cohort 27, Iowa teachers can earn 1 renewal credit each time steps 1-3 are completed thanks to a partnership between Area Education Agencies (AEA) Learning Online and NGPF. Teachers will receive a specific AEA Learning Online link after:
 
  1. Successful completion of an NGPF certification course
  2. FIVE additional NGPF PD hours completed DURING the NGPF certification course and before the certification exam window for the corresponding cohort (Both NGPF Virtual PD hours and NGPF On-Demand PD qualify)
  3. 80% or better on the corresponding NGPF Certification exam

Indiana

Yes.

Indiana accepts NGPF PD Certificates for PD points toward your Professional Growth Plan (PGP).

Illinois

No.
Illinois does not accept NGPF PD Certificates as official Continuing Professional Development Units.

Exception for Chicago Public School teachers only:
Chicago Public School teachers can receive CPDUs from the CPS Department of Student Voice & Engagement by completing and submitting this form to CPS' Financial Education Specialist, Dustin Voss ().

Idaho

Yes.

You must complete the Idaho Inservice Form and submit NGPF PD Certificates once you complete 15, 30, or 45 contact hours of PD.

Hawaii

Not applicable.

Hawaii does not record or track professional development.

Georgia

Maybe.

Professional Learning Units are no longer tracked in Georgia.  Instead, teachers develop a professional learning plan according to district requirements.  As such, please contact your local district for transcript specifics.

Florida

NGPF Certification Courses could be included in a local Florida district's in-service Professional Learning Catalog (PLC) plan as part of PD credit earned outside of a district's internal system. NGPF suggests talking directly to your district professional development department.

Arizona accepts NGPF PD Certificates for PD Credit but may require course details.

Alaska requires renewal credits to be graduate/semester hours.

Alabama

Yes.

The Alabama Department of Education does not currently have a vetting process for third party PD providers. Alabama accepts NGPF PD Certificates, which can be manually entered by the teacher into the system for approval by the district.
